IS FUDGE HARD TO MAKE?
A lot of people believe that fudge is hard to make. I will admit that making traditional old-fashioned fudge can be a little tricky if you are new to the trade.
Fudge can become too hard, too soft or even a little bit grainy tasting if you don’t do it right. There are a lot of common fudge problems that people encounter that are easily fixed.
I will admit a little secret…I rarely make old-fashioned fudge because it does involve some precision and it is a little more work then this busy mom wants to do! Buying a good quality fudge works just fine for me and sometimes I get lucky and get homemade fudge as a gift!
The AWESOME news is that this Halloween fudge recipe is not the same as old-fashioned fudge and it is VERY easy to make, just like this Cotton Candy Fudge! It is easy enough for busy moms like me (and you!).
INGREDIENTS FOR HALLOWEEN FUDGE
Four simple ingredients are all you need for this simple candy corn fudge recipe. I like to keep a variety of candy melts on hand because they are so fun to work with and an easy way to spruce up desserts.
- Orange Candy Melts
- Yellow Candy Melts
- White Candy Melts or Chocolate Chips
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN FUDGE
This really is a simple fudge recipe. Halloween candy has never tasted so good or looked so pretty. I love that this recipe doesn’t use any food coloring!
STEP ONE: PREPARE PAN
Start off by lining a loaf pan or small baking pan that is around 9 inches by 4 inches with foil or parchment paper. Then spray the foil or parchment with non-stick cooking spray.
This step will make removal from the pan later much easier.
STEP TWO: MELT WHITE CANDY
Place the white candy melts or chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl.
Place the bowl in the microwave and melt for about 30 seconds, stir and continue heating in 30-second intervals until the candy is smooth and melted. Always stir after each 30-second interval.
When the candy is melted remove from the microwave and stir in 3-4 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. The more milk you add in the softer the fudge will be.
Fold the mixture into the loaf pan and smooth the layer down in the pan using the back of a spoon or an offset spatula.
STEP THREE: MELT ORANGE CANDY
Place the orange candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl.
Place the bowl in the microwave and melt for about 30 seconds, stir and continue heating in 30-second intervals until the candy is smooth and melted. Always stir after each 30-second interval.
When the orange candy is melted remove from the microwave and stir in 3-4 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk.
Fold the mixture into the loaf pan and smooth it down on top of the white layer in the pan using the back of a spoon or an offset spatula.
STEP FOUR: MELT YELLOW CANDY
Now place the yellow candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl.
Place the bowl in the microwave and melt for about 30 seconds, stir and continue heating in 30-second intervals until the candy is smooth and completely melted. Always stir after each 30-second interval.
When the yellow candy is melted remove from the microwave and stir in 3-4 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. The more milk you add in the softer the fudge will be.
Fold the mixture into the loaf pan and smooth it down on top of the orange layer in the pan using the back of a spoon or an offset spatula.
STEP FIVE: REFRIGERATE
This is the hard part. Waiting for the Halloween fudge to set up!
Place the pan in the refrigerator and let it sit for at least 3 hours or until firm. I usually just keep mine in there overnight.
When it is totally set up you can cut it into squares and enjoy!

Halloween Fudge
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup orange candy melts
- 3/4 cup yellow candy melts
- 9-12 Tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips or candy melts
Instructions
- Line a loaf pan or small baking tray, 9" x 4" or similar with foil or parchment paper. Spray the top of the foil or parchment with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place each color of candy melt in a separate microwave-safe bowl.
- Melt the white candy coating or chocolate chips first, heating for 25 seconds, stirring well, and reheating as needed.
- Stir in 3-4 Tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, to taste (the more milk you use, the softer the final texture). Fold the mixture out into the prepared loaf pan. Use an offset spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth down this layer and place in the fridge.
- Repeat steps with the orange candy coating: heating, adding the sweetened condensed milk, and then smoothing over the white fudge layer.
- Finish with the yellow candy coating.
- Refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight before cutting into squares and serving.
