This cocktail is my go-to poolside beverage and goes perfectly well with this fruit berry salad. Of course, you can also serve this drink with a bowl of peach cobbler for a truly refreshing and peachy combination.

Fancy boozy beverages can take less than 5 minutes to make, and this recipe is irrefutable proof!

How strong is the peach mojito?

How strong of a peach mojito you make can vary depending on the type of white rum you choose and the amount of ice you add to your drink.

However, if you use a white rum that has an ABV of 40% and add 3 ice cubes per glass for this recipe, you can expect each drink to have approximately 9-10% ABV. That’s roughly equivalent to drinking fruit wine with the lowest alcoholic content or enjoying a pint of beer.

❤️ Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Apart from taking less than 3 minutes to make, this peach mojito recipe has so much more to offer!

  • It’s visually appealing. The reddish color of peach, the vibrant green accent of fresh mint leaves, and the bubbly effect of club soda make this drink very picturesque from every angle.
  • There’s plenty of room for customization. Peach goes well with most berries, including strawberries and blueberries. So, you can add more fruits to your drink to enhance its taste and aesthetics.
  • You can adjust the alcohol content as you please. Unlike ready-to-drink cocktails, this mojito recipe lets you adjust the alcohol content of each drink you make, allowing you to accommodate your guests’ preferences easily.

🥘 Ingredients

Simple fruits, plain white rum, and just a few a handful of pantry staples are all you need to get this cocktail ready to drink!

  • Fresh ripe peaches: Fresh peaches are always your best option. But if they’re not available, you can use canned peaches instead.
  • Lime: This helps bring out the zesty and tangy flavors that make almost every cocktail more refreshing.
  • Mint leaves: They’ll enhance the aroma of your drink and add a vibrant color.
  • White rum: Any brand will do, but I recommend using one with a 40% ABV so this recipe can turn out as good as it was designed.
  • Simple syrup: This easy-to-dissolve sweetener is necessary to ensure uniform sweetness throughout your drink.
  • Club soda: Make sure to chill the soda before using it so your cocktail doesn’t have to rely solely on the ice to stay cold.

See recipe card for quantities.

🔀 Substitutions

Lime: You can opt for lemon if lime isn’t available, but the citrus taste will vary slightly, so adjust the quantity accordingly.

Simple syrup: Honey and agave nectar will also work for this recipe but ensure to adjust according to taste as their sweetness levels vary.

🌈 Variations / Options / Add-Ins

The best part about serving this drink is you don’t necessarily need to stick to the original recipe every single time. Here are some of the best variations you can try to give fresh peach mojitos an extra exciting kick!

  • Fruitier cocktail: Apart from peach, you can add other fruits to this cocktail recipe, including berries and pineapple.
  • Kid-friendly: If you have kids who can’t stand missing out on delicious food or drinks, consider making a non-alcoholic version. To do so, simply omit the rum from this recipe and add more soda and fruits.
  • Extra sparkly and boozy: For guests who prefer a stronger drink, consider replacing the soda water with champagne or sparkling wine.

While you’re preparing this cocktail, why not also bake some boozy goodies such as margarita cupcakes or cookies? No doubt, your guests will love you for having these desserts on hand.

🥄 Equipment Needed / Helpful Tools

You don’t need a blender or food processor to get this cocktail set and ready to go. But make sure to have these helpful tools on hand so you can easily whip up this drink in minutes.

  • Muddler: You’ll need this to extract the flavors and juices from your peaches, lime, and mint leaves.
  • Jigger: A jigger makes it super easy to measure your rum, soda water, and simple syrup in ounces.
  • Bar spoon: A long spoon such as a bar spoon is helpful for thoroughly mixing your cocktail.

🔪 How to Make Peach Mojitos

Gather your ingredients and tools to make this super-refreshing cocktail in only 2 minutes!

Step 1: Muddle fruit and mint

Place the lime and mint leaves at the bottom of the glass. Muddle them together using the muddler you gathered. Then add the peach slices.

Step 2: Add ice to the glass

Feel free to add as much ice as you want as long as your glass won’t overfill after adding the rest of the ingredients. At the very least, each drink should have 3 ice cubes to ensure it stays cool for a few minutes.

Step 3: Add the additional ingredients

Pour your rum, simple syrup, and soda water into the glass. Stir until everything is mixed well.

Step 4: Garnish your drink (optional)

If you want to make your cocktail look extra fancy, add fresh mint leaves and one or 2 peach slices on top of the glass to make the colors pop.

❓ Recipe FAQs

How long does a mojito stay in your system?

A mojito can stay in your system for 1 to 2 hours before it is metabolized out of your system. So if you’re planning to drive after a glass of this drink, wait for at least 2 hours before getting behind the wheel. If you’re planning to drink more than one glass, it’s best to avoid driving altogether.

Is a mojito good without mint?

No, mint is one of the key ingredients of a mojito, so the absence of it will alter your drink’s classic taste and flavor. Although you can experiment with alternatives, you’ll miss out on the classic freshness of this recipe.

Can a mojito get you drunk?

Absolutely. This mojito contains 2 ounces of white rum with about 40% ABV per glass. So, if you drink more than your alcohol tolerance, you will surely be intoxicated.

Are a mojito and a margarita the same?

No, a mojito and a margarita are not the same. These two cocktails are two distinct drinks, as mojito is made using rum, while Margarita is made with tequila.
