History of Caramel
The true origin of caramel is currently unknown. However, it was written that in 1650 American settlers were making hard and sweet caramel like candy in kettles.
Then in the 1880’s a creative candy maker added milk, water and sugar together, thus creating what we now call caramel. No matter the history I can say that I will always be grateful for the sweet buttery flavor of caramel.
