  • powdered sugar

Sugar Free: Want to make this recipe sugar-free? Use Swerve confectioners sugar in place of the powdered sugar.

Cocoa Powder: Don’t have cacao on hand? Use cocoa powder in its place.

How to Make Instant Pot Chocolate Mousse recipe

Are you ready to make this creamy chocolate dessert? Follow these eight easy steps and you will have a rich Instant Pot dessert.

Step 1: Whisk the egg yolks

Place your egg yolks in a medium-size bowl. Whisk well.

Step 2: Heat the chocolate

To the bowl add powdered sugar, water, and your cacao. Microwave for 2 minutes. Stop the microwave every 30 seconds to whisk.

Step 3: Add in the dairy products

Add in your milk and whipping cream. Whisk well.

Step 4: Add in vanilla and sea salt

Let that sit for about 10 minutes. Then add in the remaining ingredients: vanilla and sea salt. Whisk well.

Step 5: Add to ramekins or jars

Add the chocolate mixture to jars, or ramekins. I used 3-ounce ramekins for this dessert. Pour the mixture in evenly, and cover with aluminum foil.

Step 6: Prepare the Instant Pot

Add one and a half cups of water to your instant pot. Place the trivet in your Insta pot and place each ramekin in your instant pot. For these specific ramekins, I had four on the bottom and two setting on top for a different layer.

Step 7: Pressure Cooker the chocolate mousse

Set your instant pot to high pressure for 10 minutes. Once it is done cooking, do a quick release by holding the valve toward you with a hot pad or towel.

Step 8: Remove the ramekins

Remove each ramekin with tongs and transfer to a cooling rack. Allow them to cool for about two hours. You can serve them immediately after they cool, or you can refrigerate them overnight. Enjoy!
