Dinosaur Bingo is the perfect game to play with kids who love all things prehistoric.

Six dinosaur-themed bingo cards next to images of dinosaurs and the title "Dinosaur Bingo" at the top.

This printable bingo game is great when you need activities for kids on a hot summer day. With colorful illustrations and easy-to-use cards, it's engaging for a wide age range and requires minimal setup-just print and play!

You’ll love this game since you don’t have to do a lot of work to set it up and it gives the kids (and you) a chance to enjoy the cool air inside while still having some screen-free fun with their friends or family.

Interesting Dinosaur Facts

I don’t think dinosaurs will ever go out of style. There always seems to be a new Jurassic Park movie coming out every few years to keep the craze going.

While the kids are playing this printable dinosaur bingo game you can share some interesting dinosaur facts with them between calls:

  • Velociraptor means speedy thief.
  • The T-Rex bite is supposedly more than twice as powerful as a lion’s bite.
  • There have been dinosaur skulls found that are as long as a car.
  • Dinosaur remains have been found on all continents.
  • The first Stegosaurus skeleton was found in Colorado.
  • Meat-eating dinosaurs are known as theropods.
  • The word theropods mean beast-footed because they had sharp, hooked claws on their toes like a beast!
  • The long tails of dinosaurs helped them keep their balance when they were running.
  • Dinosaur is a Greek word that means terrible lizard.
  • Explorer Roy Chapman Andrews found the first dinosaur nest in 1923 in the Mongolia Gobi Desert.
  • There have been dinosaur eggs found that are as big as a basketball.
  • Plant eating dinosaurs had eyes that faced out to each side so they could watch for danger while they were eating.

Dinosaur Themed Party Ideas

If you are having a dinosaur themed party you may need some more fun ideas. I have several boys at my house and they all loved dinos when they were younger!

  • Have a fossil dig during the party. Fill up a small baby pool with sand and bury some “fossils” in the sand. Let the kids do their own dig!
  • Make some dinosaur sugar cookies using these dinosaur cookie cutters. Let the kids decorate their own cookies for even more fun.
  • Make some dinosaur ice cubes by placing a plastic dinosaur into each ice cube tray slot, then add water and freeze. Put these ice cubes into cups and kids will be so excited when their ice melts!
  • You can decorate for the party using hunting type decor. Greenery and camo type items work great for the prehistoric time period.
  • It is fun to use a dinosaur footprint template to cut out dinosaur steps that lead up to the front door for the party.

Creative Ways to Use the Dinosaur Bingo Game

This game is fun to just play like a regular bingo game, however, if you want to get more mileage out of it by changing up the game or if you're planning it for a large group (like for your dinosaur themed party), here are some fun variations:

  • If you’re using it at your dinosaur themed party, hand out tiny dinosaur toys, dino stickers, or themed treats as prizes for winners.
  • Before marking a space, have kids say a fun fact about the dinosaur on their card (or let them guess its name or size).
  • Turn it into a mini scavenger hunt. Hide small dinosaur toys or figurines around the room-when kids find one, they can mark it off on their bingo card if it matches.
  • Laminate the cards and use dry-erase markers to make it reusable for road trips, plane rides, or restaurant waits.
  • Use the bingo board as a behavior or reading reward-each time a child reaches a goal, they can mark a space and earn a prize after "bingo."

Equipment Needed / Helpful Tools for Printables

Printer: This one is a great budget printer. If you're willing to spend just a little more though, this is a better option. And if you're looking for an all-in-one home office machine, this one does it all, has high reviews and includes 2 years of ink.

Ink cartridges: Speaking of ink, this is where the cost of using printables can really add up! To save BIG on ink, buy it from CompAndSave.com. It’s substantially cheaper than anywhere else and they carry ink for all major printer brands and models.

Printer paper or cardstock: If you're printing for one-time, quick use, print on regular printer paper. If you need the printout to hold up to being handled often or if you plan to laminate it to use it multiple times, choose cardstock.

Laminator: Laminating your printable is an inexpensive way to use it multiple times. Just use dry erase markers and wipe off when you're done so you can use it again!  Alternately, you can cover the printable with clear contact paper to achieve the same thing or place the printable in clear page protectors.

Binder or Folder: If you’re using page protectors for your printables, binders are such an easy way to keep them together and organized. I love this colorful set. If you prefer to stick with standard white though, this set is highly rated and very affordable. And if you need larger binders, this set is terrific. If you go with folders, I like these.

Storage boxes: I like to keep a collection of coloring pages and activity sheets for kids in these plastic storage boxes that I pull out whenever I need to keep kids occupied.

Hole punch: If you don’t use page protectors but want to use binders to organize your printables, a hole puncher will be your best friend. This is the one you want if you’ll be punching holes in several pages at a time and want to do so easily. And this bargain option is ideal if you don’t mind limiting your hole punching to 2-3 pages at a time.

Clipboard: I love this clipboard for on-the-go with the kids. It has built in storage for both printables and markers or pencils. This one stands up like an easel so it perfect for holding the recipe you’ve printed out and are making or the game board. These colorful clipboards are great for holding individual game cards.
