Step 4: Knead the dough until a ball forms

Using a stand mixer, attach a dough hook and mix on medium until dough forms into a ball and does not stick to the mixing bowl. Add some flour if too sticky. If using hands to knead, knead the dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface until the dough is no longer sticky.

Step 5: Allow the dough to rise until double in size

Place the dough ball in a well-oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and a warm towel. Place the bowl on the counter for an hour and a half to allow for the dough to double in size.

Step 6: Roll out the cinnamon roll dough

Place the dough on a floured surface and flatten with a rolling pin until the dough is roughly a square foot of surface. (12”x12”)

Tips

Here are some tips to make sure that your air fryer cinnamon rolls turn out perfectly.

  • If you’re having trouble rolling out the dough, try using a little bit of flour to help keep it from sticking.
  • If your cinnamon rolls get too brown while in the air fryer, turn the temperature down a few notches for the remainder of cook time.
  • Be sure to grease your bowl well before placing the dough in it to rise. This will help the dough not stick to the sides and bottom.
