One of the biggest challenges for busy moms is getting a healthy meal on the table every night. One of my goals is to provide you with lots of healthy, family friendly dinner ideas.
I’ve tried and tested hundreds of recipes in my effort to satisfy my picky selective eaters. I only share the successes here. Hopefully you’ll find some recipes for your family in this collection of family friendly dinner ideas.
Casseroles/One Pan Recipes
I love the ease and convenience of casseroles. Throw everything in one pan and bake. Fewer dirty dishes too!
Creamy Garden Chicken Casserole
Sausage, Onion and Potato Sheet Pan Dinner
Chicken Recipes
Chicken is one of my primary go-to protein sources for dinner. Its subtle taste makes it easy to incorporate into all types of dishes. It’s lean and packed with protein, so it’s a great base for a healthy meal.
Garlic & Herb Roasted Chicken and Vegetables
Pork Recipes
For years I was afraid to make pork. I had memories of gray, boiled pork chops from my childhood. But then my sister-in-law grilled up some amazing pork steaks and this protein source took on new life in my kitchen.
Baked Pork Chops and Apples with Brown Sugar Glaze
Baked Pork Chops and Creamy Potatoes
Beef Recipes
We don’t actually eat a lot of beef and when we do, we usually just grill it. However, every once in awhile I prepare it in the kitchen and a couple of these recipes got the thumbs-up from the family.
Shrimp
My family loves shrimp. Because it’s expensive, I usually use it in heavier meals with lots of fiber so it’s filling without breaking the bank.
Vegetarian
My teen daughter is a vegetarian so we like to throw in the occasional meatless meal to show her support. These dishes aren’t always a hit with the meat eaters in the family, but a couple of them have earned the family seal of approval.
In addition to the recipes listed above, tacos, spaghetti, and pizza are always popular with my whole crew. What are your family’s favorites?
The vegetarian dishes look delish. I’ve been looking to add more vegetarian dishes to my meal rotation.
