Air Fryer Breakfast Casserole Ingredients.

You only need a few simple ingredients to help you make this hearty casserole. You may need to make a quick trip to the grocery store, but you won’t regret it after you give this casserole recipe a try. 

milk – I used whole milk, but lower fat milk will work just as well. It may just reduce the flavor slightly. 

ground sausage – Turkey or pork sausage will work fine in this breakfast casserole. 

frozen hash browns – Shredded works best. You can use fresh or refrigerated hashbrowns also. 

Substitutions

Sausage: Instead of sausage you can use any type of breakfast crumbles that your family enjoys. 

Milk: Your favorite non-dairy milk will work in this recipe also. 

Variations / Options / Add-Ins

Do you want to change up this air fryer casserole recipe? Here are a few tips that can help you do that. 

Spice: If you love a little spice, add in some diced jalapeno peppers or top with some hot sauce.

  • air fryer – I recommend using an air fryer that is at least 6 quarts or larger to make this. 
  • shallow dish or baking pan – I used a pie plate but you can use any type of shallow dish that fits into your air fryer. A cake pan would also work. 

How to Make Air Fryer Breakfast Casserole

Making this breakfast casserole is simple. Just follow the instructions below and you will have a hearty breakfast that your family will devour in no time at all. 

Step 1: Whisk together the eggs and milk

In a bowl, whisk the eggs and milk.

Step 2: Stir in the remaining ingredients and mix 

Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Crumble the bacon before adding.

Step 3: Pour into a pie pan

Pour egg mixture into an 8” pie pan. This pie pan fits my air fryer basket. You can use any dish that fits your basket. A shallow dish helps it cook evenly. We made 2 batches.

Step 4: Air fry until done

Cook at 350 for 25 minutes. If the top starts to cook faster, cover with foil to finish. 

Step 5: Allow the casserole to cool before serving

Let sit for 15 minutes after cooking, resting allows the egg to become firm.

Step 6: Garnish and serve

Serve with salsa, hot sauce, or ketchup if that’s your thing!

I don’t recommend freezing this dish, as it may thaw and be runny.
