I’ve been trying to come up with more recipes that my kids can, and look forward to, making. Given my fondness for my Instant Pot, I decided it was high time to come up with an Instant Pot recipe they could easily make.

Since my kids love pizza, I used that as my recipe inspiration. That’s how I came up with this Instant Pot Pizza Casserole. Here’s a couple of other pizza recipe your kids might like, Air Fryer Margherita Pizza and Crockpot Pizza Casserole.

  1. The pizza pot recipe is horribly wrong for an instant pot! First, it has zero liquid in it for the pot to come to pressure. Secondly, why are you adding already cooked pasta to the pot and then pressure cooking it for 10 minutes? That’s way too long for uncooked pasta in the pot, let alone to be basically just melting the cheese , which is all that this recipe accomplished. Beware if you follow this recipe as written here all that you’ll accomplish is burning the bottom of the pot.

  2. I tried the “Instant Pot Pizza Casserole” recipe. I substituted sausage for the ground beef, other than that I followed the directions exactly. It burned on the bottom of my Instant Pot. A Facebook Instant Pot Community page suggested that I didn’t have enough water for the pressure cooker. Do you have any recommendations of what I can do differently? I was able to salvage the meal by pouring it into a regular casserole dish. It was a delicious hit with my family.

    • Hi Amber, substituting sausage for the beef shouldn’t have made a difference. The pasta sauce in the recipe should be sufficient liquid to bring the pot to pressure, especially since the pasta is already cooked. I’m sorry it didn’t turn out for you, but glad you were able to salvage it. The only thing I can think of is that if you used a thick pasta sauce, perhaps adding 1/2 cup of water might have helped. I use a marinara sauce that is very liquidy so perhaps that is the difference. Thank you so much for sharing your feedback!

  3. The cheat sheet is awesome, why no tines on the dried beans?

    • That was a mistake. I updated the cheat sheet about a month ago. It’s been updated on the subscriber freebies page (you can grab it there if you subscribed before it was updated) and also in the welcome email. If you recently subscribed but received the wrong version, please let me know so I can figure out why and how.

      • Sweet, thanks. I just found your page because someone posted the link on a facebook group for instantpot. I am going to subscribe and check everything out.
