This simple beverage recipe only needs four ingredients. You already have most of these ingredients on hand which can save you a trip to the grocery store.

  • apples
  • brown sugar
  • water
  • cinnamon sticks

Substitutions

Ground Cinnamon: use one tablespoon of ground cinnamon in place of cinnamon sticks if you can’t find them.

Cloves: Add in a few whole cloves to give your cider a little extra spice.

How to Make Instant Pot Apple Cider

You can make this delicious fall drink in just 7 easy steps.

Step 1: Slice your apples

Quarter apples and place in the instant pot.

Step 2: Add water and spices to your Instant Pot

Add water to max or 6 cups. Add sugar and cinnamon sticks. Close lid and seal the pressure valve.

Step 3: Cook your cider

Cook on high for 30 minutes. Manually release pressure.

 Step 4: Mash your apples

Remove lid and mash apples with a potato masher. Close lid and seal pressure valve.

Step 5: Cook your apple cider again

Pressure cook on high for 30 minutes. Manually release the pressure valve.

Step 6: Strain your cider

Pour over a cheese cloth and strain cider into a bowl.

 Chill cider or drink warm.

Variations / Options / Add-Ins

Cranberries: Add in 1/2 cup of cranberries to your Instant Pot on the first cook for an additional fruit flavor.

Star of Anise: Drop in one star of anise to your Instant Pot before cooking for a spicy flavor.
