Everyone in my family (aside from my vegetarian) loves bacon so I work bacon into a lot of recipes. You might remember my BLT appetizer cups. With two pounds of bacon on hand from my recent review of ClubsGalore, I decided to bake a loaf of bacon bread.

Ingredients For Making Bacon Bread
The recipe is a simple one and only calls for a few ingredients. Pictured below are all of the ingredients.
If you don’t have liquid smoke, you can use a substitute for liquid smoke.

Only A Few Steps To Make Bacon Bread
To make the bread, you just have to cook and crumble the bacon, combine the dry ingredients, combine the wet ingredients, and then mix everything together. It all gets poured in a loaf pan and baked for 45 minutes. See? Pretty easy.

This makes a nice treat for Dad on Father’s Day, either as part of his breakfast that day or as a gift from the kids. The recipe is easy enough for even the most novice of bakers to make.

how does this need to be stored
To keep the bread fresh, you can refrigerate it following these instructions: Once the bread has cooled completely on the wire rack, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container. This will keep it fresh for about 3-4 days when stored in the refrigerator.
Or, if you want to keep the bread for a longer period, you can freeze it. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, then in aluminum foil, or place it in a freezer-safe bag. This way, it can last up to 2-3 months. To serve, thaw it overnight in the fridge and reheat slices in a toaster or oven if desired.
This receipe is much like the bacon bread I buy at my local Farmer’s Market. Their bread includes cheese. I wonder how your receipe would turn out if I added a small amount of cheese.
I think adding cheese to it is a great idea! You’ll have to try it and come back and let us know how it turned out.
I think it would be awesome to toast the bacon bread and then melt cheese on it.
That does sound delicious! If you try it, you’ll have to come back and let us know how it worked out. Thanks for commenting.
