Why Should you use a Calendar for Activities?
The fall season is known for so many traditions that revolve around food and activities. There’s also a lot going on with school, after school activities, work, etc.
So, how do we get to enjoy a healthy work/life balance with our families during fall? We need to schedule downtime using a calendar and plan for some fall fun.
Now, you may not think it is necessary to use a calendar to plan out fall fun for your kids. If you are extremely organized then you can probably handle this on your own.
However, if you’re a wondermom wannabe like me, you probably use as many tricks as possible to keep your household flowing smoothly. The reality is that the activity won’t happen unless it’s planed ahead using tools to help plan it.
This one month calendar of fall activities for kids makes it easy to accomplish some extra fun during the brief fall season.
How do I use the Fall Activities Calendar?
This calendar really is the ultimate guide to fall fun for your children and family, but it is just that โ a guide.
I am a realist and know that VERY few people will be able to accomplish EVERY SINGLE activity on this calendar and that is FINE.
You will not get any pushback or guilt trips from me. The whole point is to get your creative juices flowing.
Plus, even though the calendar says it’s “a month of fall fun,” fall is 3 months long so you don’t have to do all the activities in just one month. You can spread out the activities however you like.
The best way to use the fall activities calendar is to look it over and circle the activities you know for sure you want to do with your children. Transfer those ideas onto your family calendar and get ready to have some fun.
If you have more time available try to work even more fall activities into your days.
What Kind of Activities are Included on the Calendar?
There are lots of fun ideas on this calendar so your kids have a great time. Here are some of my favorites:
- Eat candy corn because it is only available during the fall season.
- Go for a hayride on a beautiful fall evening.
- Make s’mores at least once if not several times.
- Go for a hike in the fall and look at the changing leaves.
- Make a leaf rubbing from leaves you collect during your hike.
- Roast pumpkin seeds after you carve your Halloween pumpkins.
- Rake leaves and jump in the pile afterward.
- Make and eat a candy apple for a delicious treat.
Equipment Needed / Helpful Tools for Printables
Here are some tools that may be useful if you plan on printing out this fall calendar.
Printer: This one is a great budget printer. If youโre willing to spend just a little more though, this is a better option. And if youโre looking for an all-in-one home office machine, this one does it all, has high reviews and includes 2 years of ink.
Ink cartridges: Speaking of ink, this is where the cost of using printables can really add up! To save BIG on ink, buy it from CompAndSave.com. It’s substantially cheaper than anywhere else and they carry ink for all major printer brands and models.
Printer paper or cardstock: If youโre printing for one-time, quick use, print on regular printer paper. If you need the printout to hold up to being handled often or if you plan to laminate it to use it multiple times, choose cardstock.
Laminator: Laminating your printable is an inexpensive way to use it multiple times. Just use dry erase markers and wipe off when youโre done so you can use it again! Alternately, you can cover the printable with clear contact paper to achieve the same thing or place the printable in clear page protectors.
