It is believed that hot chocolate was created by the Maya around 3000 years ago. And a similar cocoa drink was used medicinally to treat stomach issues until the 19th century.

I don’t know about you but I never need an excuse to drink hot cocoa, but when you add hot cocoa to cookies, well now we are really talking about love at first sight.

I love these! Mine didn’t turn out anything like yours though – they spread out, are very thin and kind of chewy, sort of like a lace cookie. I thought I followed instructions as directed – any idea what I could have done wrong?

    • Hi Heather! Another reader caught that we had a typo in the ingredient list. It’s supposed to be 2 1/4 cups flour, not 3/4. THAT is why they spread out so much! Glad the flavor was there. With the added flour, they should have more substance and hold their shape.

    • OMG, such a terrible typo! You are right, way more than 3/4 cup. It’s supposed to be 2 1/4! Fixed it in the recipe card. Thank you for catching it!
