I love to see the smile on children’s faces when they receive Christmas angel treat bags. It is nice to see the smile on a parent’s face when they realize how EASY these treat bags are to make thanks to a free printable treat bag topper.

There is some interesting information about how angels got to be such a big part of Christmas.

Many people place an angel on the top of their Christmas tree. Traditionally this has represented the angel’s role in the birth of Jesus. There are several angels that appear in the birth story of Jesus from Gabriel to the angels who announced Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem.

Angel ornaments are also very popular on Christmas trees. These ornaments can range from simple glass angels or ornate angels with LED lights!

The movie angel reference that has become known worldwide is from the movie It’s a Wonderful Life. The line is, “every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings”. This is a heartfelt movie and quote that people adore.

The best news of the day is that the “angel dust” inside the treat bag is just blue cotton candy! I buy the cotton candy at the store and pull it apart to fill each bag. SIMPLE!

Now it is possible to make cotton candy at home. It is a very easy process if you have a home cotton candy machine.

There are some adorable vintage and retro home cotton candy machines for VERY reasonable prices. I love the Nostalgia brand cotton candy machines for their look and their low price tag. These actually make fun birthday or Christmas gifts for the hard to buy for person on your list.

The machines have easy to follow directions for making the cotton candy. You can purchase the sugar in the colors you choose and bam…you have homemade cotton candy!

These bags are perfect for handing out as party favors at class parties or even church events. I love giving these out at our family holiday party or as a Christmas treat at our local library.

If your family does an advent calendar they could be a gift for one of those days. Another great idea is to use these as a stocking stuffer or as inexpensive gifts for your children’s friends.

Girls and boys like will love getting a little gift bag of cotton candy!
