HOW TO THROW A GREAT NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
If you have never thrown a New Year’s Eve party it is time to do it. I feel like New Year’s Eve parties are easy because people just want to hang out and have fun. These parties are typically relaxed and chill which takes a lot of pressure off the hostess.
The main requirements for an awesome New Year’s Eve party are:

- Great Food

- Easy Decorations
NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY INVITATIONS
I don’t like to spend a lot of money on party invitations because they will be thrown right into the trash after the party.
Depending on the party I am throwing I may create my own invitations in Picmonkey and print them off at home.
This year for my New Year’s Eve party I am using the free printable invitations in this planning kit. I always print these off on white cardstock and they look fantastic!
On your invitations, it says to come dressed for photos but you may want to specify dress code (casual, semi-casual, or black tie optional). Be sure to mail the invitations by mid-December or people may have already made other plans.
NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY FOOD
The best food for a New Year’s Eve party is always going to be finger foods. Prepare a big spread of appetizers and snack foods so that people can graze as they socialize with family and friends.
I don’t know of many people who want to do a big sit down dinner for New Year’s Eve. The party will last a long time and you want foods that can sit out and be good to nibble on all evening.

NEW YEAR’S EVE PHOTO BOOTH
Photo booths are SO popular right now. Everyone wants a great spot to take group pictures and even selfies.
Setting up a corner of your house for a mini photo booth is actually very simple to do.
You can find VERY inexpensive kits on Amazon that make creating a photo booth easy.
Start off by hanging a backdrop of some kind. I love the foil curtain backdrops in gold or silver.
Add a banner and some balloons and you are set!
Don’t forget that this kit includes printable photo booth props that people can hold to make the photos even better.
NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY DECORATIONS
I like to keep party decor simple. People aren’t coming over for the decorations.
Some easy ways to decorate are:
- Hang a Happy New Year banner on your mantel.
- Put pretty themed table cloths on the tables and have matching napkins.
- Use the printable wall decor items in this party kit to hang throughout the house.
- Add some pretty decor items to the table to added flair.
