DO HOMEMADE CLEANING PRODUCTS WORK?
I am always surprised by how many people doubt that homemade cleaning products actually work. The truth is that some homemade cleaners work great and some are not as good.
I will not try to convince you to make everything from scratch because I definitely don’t do that at my house. There are some homemade cleaning products that are simple to make and I feel good using to clean my house, like how to clean shower with vinegar!
This particular bathroom cleaner has a base of baking soda and natural dish soap. These are ingredients known to be effective cleaners. Adding in the essential oils brings the cleaner to a whole other level and smells wonderful too!
WHY ADD ESSENTIAL OILS TO A CLEANER?
One of my favorite reasons for adding essential oils to my homemade cleaners is the smell. It creates a cleaner that is enjoyable to clean with instead of those chemical smells you get from many store-bought cleaning agents.
Another great reason for adding oils to cleaning products is besides smelling good those smells are actually good for me and my mood!
Many essential oils have antimicrobial qualities and that always helps when you are cleaning the house.
Citrus oils can help break down grease which is a common cause of dirt and grime around the house.
The oils in this specific recipe were picked because they are great for killing germs, cleaning, freshening the air and boosting your mood!
