These printable Valentine coupons for kids are a fun and easy way to express your love for your children on Valentine’s Day.

Surprise your kids with these coupons on Valentine’s Day. They’re free to print and most of the redemption prizes won’t cost you anything either.
Kid coupons are a useful parenting tool since they reinforce the value of time and attention over material things. Plus, kids love them because the rewards make them feel special.

When is it Okay to Relax Parenting Rules for Your Child?
Several of these coupons let you relax your rules a little without setting a precedent of caving to demands. You can still limit screen time and have a firm bed time, but let the kids stretch these limits very briefly with a pre-defined limit to the leeway you are granting them.
So, you might be wondering, if it’s okay to relax my rules for Valentine’s Day, when else is it okay to relax the rules? Just remember to ensure that the relaxed rules don’t compromise core values or safety.
- On holidays (like Valentine’s Day) or special occasions like your child’s birthday, it’s okay to allow things like slightly later bed time or less strict screen time, as long as the child’s homework will be done before heading back to school on Monday.
- On weekends, it’s okay to be flexible and have a more relaxed schedule, like allowing pajamas all day or letting them choose what to eat for breakfast. This can create special traditions and memories while being less stressful for all of you.
- When you’re on vacation, the rules can be relaxed some because it’s a time to allow for some extra fun, plus because of the activities you’re doing or family that you’re visiting, it may not always be possible to stick to all of the same rules you have at home.
- At a friend’s house, it’s important for your child to know what rules you still expect them to follow (like proper behavior, doing the right thing, etc.), however, you can let them know it’s okay if they might eat something they wouldn’t normally be allowed to eat (like a special treat) and if they stay up later.
- When your child is sick, you might want to let them watch more t.v. than they would normally watch (they’ll probably sleep through most of it anyway), eat a couple of popsicles instead of just one (because it feels nice on their throat), etc.
- As your kids get older, you’ll need to adjust the rules according to their age level and their ability to be responsible for more things.
Creative Ways to Use These Printables
Printable Valentine coupons offer a versatile and heartfelt way to celebrate with your children. Here are some creative ideas to make the most of these printables:
Put Them in a Card, Jar or Envelope
These coupons can be tucked into a Valentine’s Day card or presented in a decorated jar or envelope to add an extra layer of excitement. It’s a simple yet heartfelt way to celebrate the day!
You can buy an inexpensive cute kid’s card at the Dollar Store, or make a card yourself, and cut out the coupons and put them inside the card.
If you only have an envelope available, just put some cute stickers on it and put the coupons in there.
A really cute idea from my friend is to put the coupons in a super easy to make decorative jar. The kids can keep the jar on their desk and then pull out a coupon when they want to use one.
Create a Personalized Coupon Book
To make these coupons into a book, you just have to cut apart all of the coupons — you can use just the pre-printed ones, the fill-in-the-blank ones, or both. Once you decide which coupons to use, put them in the order you want.
Then bind them together by punching a hole in the top only, or two holes on the side, and then tie them together with a decorative ribbon. Or, you can staple them together at the top, or with two staples on the side, to form a booklet.
Use as a Daily Surprise
Starting from February 1st, place a coupon in your child’s lunchbox, under their pillow, bathroom mirror, breakfast plate, backpack (anywhere really) each day. You can either put it in the same place every day or put it in a different place each day.
This makes the celebration last longer and keeps them looking forward to each day as they discover where you left their surprise.
Involve Children in Making Coupons for Family Members
Encourage your kids to create their own coupons to give to siblings or grandparents. This encourage them to be creative and thoughtful.
They can think of their own ideas for what to put on the coupons they give away or you can give them some suggestions. Some ideas they can use are to do one of their siblings chores, have a game night, listen to storytelling about the person’s past, help cook dinner or dishes, etc.
What Coupons are in the Valentine Coupons for Kids?
There are two different types of coupons included in this printable set.
Pre-Filled Valentine Coupons for Kids
One page of the coupons are already filled in with ideas. Younger kids (preschool and elementary school) love the coupons that give them control (e.g. pick out the family meal or dessert).

Blank Valentine Coupons for Kids
Not all of us parent the same so the coupons above might not be ideal for your family. So, with these blank coupons you can fill in your own rewards that you can tailor to the things your child enjoys.

By the way, if you prefer to write in your own rewards, I’d love to hear your ideas. Please share them in the comments and I’ll try to include your suggestions in my future coupons.
Equipment Needed / Helpful Tools for Printables
Printer: This one is a great budget printer. If you’re willing to spend just a little more though, this is a better option. And if you’re looking for an all-in-one home office machine, this one does it all, has high reviews and includes 2 years of ink.
Ink cartridges: Speaking of ink, this is where the cost of using printables can really add up! To save BIG on ink, buy it from CompAndSave.com. It’s substantially cheaper than anywhere else and they carry ink for all major printer brands and models.
Printer paper or cardstock: If you’re printing for one-time, quick use, print on regular printer paper. If you need the printout to hold up to being handled often or if you plan to laminate it to use it multiple times, choose cardstock.
Laminator: Laminating your printable is an inexpensive way to use it multiple times. Just use dry erase markers and wipe off when you’re done so you can use it again! Alternately, you can cover the printable with clear contact paper to achieve the same thing or place the printable in clear page protectors.
Cutter: If you want nice, clean cuts, a paper cutter is a must-have. This is a great one if you plan on using it a lot. But this one is totally sufficient if you want something solid and reliable for occasional use.
On a tight budget? Go with this one. Or, use a good pair of scissors and a sturdy ruler.
Binder or Folder: If you’re using page protectors for your printables, binders are such an easy way to keep them together and organized. I love this colorful set. If you prefer to stick with standard white though, this set is highly rated and very affordable. And if you need larger binders, this set is terrific. If you go with folders, I like these.
Hole punch: If you don’t use page protectors but want to use binders to organize your printables, a hole puncher will be your best friend. This is the one you want if you’ll be punching holes in several pages at a time and want to do so easily. And this bargain option is ideal if you don’t mind limiting your hole punching to 2-3 pages at a time.
