If you get tired of serving the same appetizers at every party, you have to try this smoked salmon dip. It’s also a great way to change up your afternoon snack since it’s packed with protein and Omega-3s.
I love to have friends over so I always keep ingredients on hand for party food that can be whipped up at the last minute. When I have time to plan for a get-together though, I like to serve different foods to keep my menu from being boring.
I also love having appetizer leftovers after a party since they make great snacks the next day or two. That’s actually how this smoked salmon dip worked its way onto my menu.
A protein-packed snack with a healthy dose of Omega-3s? Smoked salmon dip was an obvious winner.
If you want to stay away from dips, these salmon roe canapes are a great alternative. If you want to make a hearty dip for non-seafood lovers, try this dried beef dip.
How to Make Smoked Salmon Dip
I like to spend my time enjoying company, not slaving away in the kitchen. So, like all of my other recipes, this smoked salmon dip is crazy easy.
It might seem silly to break this recipe into steps since it is so easy, but I like getting all the details when I’m trying something new. That’s why I break down my recipes this way.
So first, you’ll put the smoked salmon in your food processor.
Then, add the ricotta and a dash of salt and pepper. If you want some added flavor, also add cream cheese and capers.
All you have to do now is blend the ingredients together. Taste it when it gets to the consistency you want and add more salt and/or pepper if needed.
I like to add a squirt of lemon too. Dill also adds a different flavor that blends nicely with the salmon.
Once you have the flavor adjusted to your preferences, spoon it into a small bowl and serve with pretzels or crackers.
