This Berry Chia Smoothie Bowl is a nutrient dense meal to kick off your day. Even better, it’s so colorful and pretty, even before you dig in, you’ll start your day on a positive note.
Why Chia Seeds?
If you want to incorporate more superfoods in your diet, chia seeds are a great place to start. They’re easy to sprinkle onto almost any dish to give you an instant dose of omega 3’s, fiber, and calcium.
In fact, chia seeds are one of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3’s. Good for your brain, cholesterol levels, and overall inflammation. And unlike flax seeds, you get the benefits of chia seeds without needing to grind them.
Chia seeds are also a great source of antioxidants, helping you stay healthy and age gracefully.
Best of all, because of all the protein, fiber and the way chia seeds gel when mixed with liquids, they help you feel full and satisfied. This is something I discovered the first time I had Chia Pudding and despite the small serving size, found I couldn’t finish it.
Why Smoothie Bowls?
I started eating more smoothie bowls when the sound of the blender mixing up my morning smoothie at 6 am was irritating the rest of my family. Similar in concept to a yogurt parfait, smoothie bowls are easier because you don’t have to take time to layer them, you just throw everything in a bowl.
Usually, I just play around with different yogurt toppings. But when you’re just starting out, it’s really nice to have a recipe to work from. Carrington Farms shared this Berry Chia Smoothie Bowl recipe with me and I think it’s the perfect one to start with.
It’s full of yummy ingredients, including a nice dose of chia seeds. I hope you love it as much as I do!
