I participated in Mom Blog Tour Sweets & Snacks Expo (#MomBlogTourFF) on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers. I received Celebration by Frey products to facilitate my review, but my opinions and creative content are my own.
Your kids will think you’re a legit Wonder mom if you serve up the Superhero Sundaes after dinner. They’re fun, colorful, and most importantly, super yummy!
Why Superhero Sundaes?
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of superheroes, Wonder Woman in particular. I think superheroes provide an important ideal for ordinary people to aspire to.
Of course, superheroes also happen to be very popular right now. with Marvel and DC Comics turning out amazing movies each year, superheroes are currently all the rage.
Not to mention bright colors and vibrant action that accompanies all things superhero also happen to be very attractive to kids. So, anytime you can work a superhero theme into your child stay is an opportunity to both inspire and delight your child.
Key Superhero Elements
To infuse anything with superhero essence you really just need to incorporate a few key elements. First, and most importantly, you need to create a sense of excitement.
Second, you’ll want to include plenty of bright primary colors, the same colors you’ll find in superhero costumes and equipment. For example, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Captain America wear red, white, and blue. You’ll also find yellow in key parts of Wonder Woman and Superman’s costumes.
Finally, for a good superhero theme, you should infuse bravery. Superheroes are bold and courageous.
Whether you choose bold fonts, daring ingredients, or stand out features, there’s no room for shrinking violets in a superhero theme. You know, aside from the superhero Shrinking Violet.
Main Sundae Ingredients
Here’s a little secret about me – I’m always looking for a faster easier way to do everything. So, even when I went to treat my kids to a fun dessert, you can rest assured it doesn’t take much effort or much time put together.
Sundaes are an awesome way to put together a dessert that wows with very little effort. All you need is ice cream, some kind of sauce, and a few toppings of your choice.
For toppings, I always try to include something a little crunchy for texture and something colorful. For these superhero sundaes, I actually found one ingredient that achieved both these things.
Check out these perfect superhero sundae toppings from Celebration by Frey. They even have little candies shaped like stars!
If you’re a traditionalist, like me, you’ll also want whipped cream and maraschino cherries. and, if you like to have a little fun with your kids like I do, you wait until your kids say, “Pretty please with a cherry on top?” before you add the cherry to the top of the sundae.
How to Make Superhero Sundaes
Making superhero sundaes only takes a minute more than serving plain ice cream.
First, you scoop the ice cream into a bowl. When I’m aiming for extra credit, I use waffle bowls.
Then, you spoon a nice layer of cherry pie filling (or strawberry syrup if you prefer) over the ice cream.
Add a nice swirl (or dollop) of whipped cream.
Sprinkle on some colorful superhero colored Celebration by Frey confections.
And top off with a maraschino cherry.
That’s it! Just a few simple ingredients and a couple of minutes have produced this colorful, tasty dessert your kids are going to love!
