To celebrate the 10th day of our 10th month, I decided to highlight Top 10 Lists (10 of them, to be exact) from around the web that apply to moms.

Top 10 Lists

10 Things Every Mom Should Know from Parents Magazine.

I’ll admit, this list is actually a pretty good manual if you’d like to prepare in advance. Unfortunately for my daughter, I learned to cut bangs through trial and error.

Top 10 Companies For Working Moms ranked by Working Mother.

Offering competitive pay, flexible schedules, and lenient maternity leave policies, these companies have earned their spots on this list. Unsurprisingly, you will recognize a lot of the companies as those that own brands that we moms love. These companies know what keeps moms happy.

Top 10 TV Moms according to Woman’s Day.

I was happy to see Debra Barone on the list since I have been told more than once that I mother just like her. I don’t know how Mrs. Cunningham didn’t make the list, but other than her omission, my own list of best TV moms is pretty similar.

The 10 Best and 10 Worst Moms Ever determined by Time magazine.

I knew I wasn’t in the running for 10 Best, but was very relieved to find I wasn’t in the 10 Worst either. Joan Crawford thankfully nosed me out with her “No wire hangars EVER!!!” tantrum.

Top 10 Vehicles for Moms Who Hate Minivans put together by Edmunds.com.

Apparently, I am a minivan mom because I absolutely would take my minivan over any of the vehicles listed aside from the GMC Acadia. The Kia Optima is also cute but I could never fit my whole family in it.

Top 10 Books About Motherhood determined by the Momoir Project.

I might be at risk of having my library card revoked! I have only read one of the books on this list and hadn’t even heard of most of them. Guess I have some reading to do…

Top 10 Mom Songs according to a poll conducted by momlogic.

This article actually contains 4 Top 10 lists since it categorizes them by hits, country, anthems, and kid-friendly. I’m making a playlist from the anthems as soon as I publish this post since I already have all of the songs in my iTunes library. You’ll definitely want to check out the kid-friendly list as well because there are some great songs on it (including one from my favorite musician for kids, Laurie Berkner).

10 Things Never To Say To A Mom from Babble.

You will recognize a lot of these because they are all things people have said to you that made you grit your teeth or stare in dumb silence because you can’t believe they said it and you don’t know how to respond. Sadly, I’ve been guilty of saying a few of them! Of course you don’t tell someone she looks tired because the translation is clearly, “you look like crap.”

10 Most Embarrassing Things Kids Say according to the Stir.

I literally laughed out loud at some of these, mostly because they brought back memories of things my kids have actually said or they’ve said something similar. My son once asked a woman why she had so many polka dots (she had several visible moles). Another time my daughter asked me why the woman (a girl in her late teens) in front of us in the checkout line was naked (she was wearing booty shorts and a tube top).

Top 10 Quotes About Mothers chosen by Inspirational Quotes and Quotations.

I love these! Some of them will warm your heart and others serve as important reminders. My favorite: “Education commences at the mother’s knee, and every word spoken within the hearing of little children tends towards the formation of character.” — Hosea Ballou

What do you think? Do you agree with the rankings in these top ten lists? Do you have your own favorite Top 10 List about moms you’d like to share? Please let me know in the comments.
