- 2 cups unsalted sweet cream butter melted
- 2 ½ cups sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 4 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 5 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 cups Mint M&M’s
- 24 Mint Oreo cookies chopped
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Using a stand mixer, cream together the melted butter, sugar and brown sugar until combined.
Mix in the eggs and egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each egg.
Mix in the vanilla.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt.
Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet until completely combined.
Mix in 1 ½ C chocolate chips, 1 ½ C M&M’s and half of the chopped Oreos.
Spread the batter into the baking dish and top with remaining chocolate chips, M&M’s and chopped Oreos.
Bake 40 minutes or until edges just begin to turn golden brown.
Allow to cool before cutting and enjoying.
- Make sure that you are using melted butter and not softened butter for this recipe.
- Measure out all of your ingredients before you begin baking, so that everything is ready when needed.
- Also, be sure to let these bars cool completely before cutting and serving so that they hold their shape.
- I prefer to use unsalted butter when baking, but salted butter can be used instead.
- To test for doneness insert a toothpick into the center of the cookie bars, if it comes out with a few moist crumbs then they are done.
- If you don't have parchment paper, you can spray your baking dish well with nonstick cooking spray instead. Make sure to spray the sides of the pan well.
- If you want to add a little saltiness to this recipe, sprinkle some chopped pretzels or chocolate-covered pretzels on the top of the bars and then press them down with a spatula.
