Chocolate Chip Butter Pecan Cream Cheese Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup butter softened
  • 8 oz package cream cheese softened
  • cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine 2 cups flour, ⅔ cup packed brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly.
  • Press the crumb mixture firmly into a 13x9 baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Mix in ⅓ cup brown sugar and vanilla.
  • Add 2 tablespoons flour and eggs, blending until well combined. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the baked crust.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the filling is set.
  • Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars. Makes 16 servings.

Notes

Press crust firmly into pan for best results. Cool completely and refrigerate before cutting for cleanest bars. Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days. Can freeze individual bars for up to 3 months.
