Pro Tips

  • Since tenderstem broccoli is more delicate than regular broccoli, its cooking time will vary depending on the cooking method. For this recipe, keep it within three to five minutes.
  • Peel or trim the broccolini stems to ensure more even cooking if you think they’re too thick.
  • Sauté them in small batches and in an even layer to ensure they’re all well-cooked.

Here's a good guide to help you cook tenderstem broccoli to perfection.
  • Boiling - 2 to 4 minutes
  • Steaming - 4 to 6 minutes
  • Roasting - 10 to 15 minutes at 400 F
  • Microwaving - 3 to 5 minutes

How do you store Tenderstem broccoli?
Keep fresh tenderstem broccoli in the crisper or vegetable compartment of your fridge. Don’t keep it in a place with a high temperature as the vegetable might turn yellow.
Additionally, don’t wash it before storage, as any added moisture can cause the vegetables to spoil more quickly.

How long does Tenderstem broccoli last in the fridge?
When stored properly, it should last for up to five days.

Can you freeze raw Tenderstem broccoli?
Yes, but be sure to blanch it first. This will help the vegetable retain its nutrients, flavor and color. If you freeze tenderstem broccoli without blanching, you’ll risk turning it mushy and gray.
