These Margarita Cookies are sweet, tangy, and the perfect dessert to make for Cinco de Mayo.

What you need:

all-purpose flour

baking soda

baking powder

salt

butter

granulated sugar

eggs

Tequila

Juice from 1 lime

Zest from 1 lime

Wilton sparkling sugar

Preheat

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.

Mix dry Ingredients

Add the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder to a bowl. Stir dry ingredients until combined, set aside.

Mix wet Ingredients

Put the butter, sugar, eggs, tequila, lime juice and lime zest in a large mixing bowl. Mix until light and fluffy.

Beat dry and wet Ingredients

Slowly add in the dry ingredients until fully incorporated.

Chill the Cookie Dough

Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator to chill for one hour.

Shape the Cookie Dough

Put the Wilton sparkling sugar in a small bowl. Roll the cookie dough into 2 inch balls and place in the bowl.

Roll in the Sugar 

Roll each cookie dough ball in the sparkling sugar and place on the cookie sheet lined with parchment.

Bake the Cookies

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until they start to brown slightly.

Allow cookies to cool and then, serve and enjoy!
