How To Turn “Random Acts Of Kindness” Into A Family Lifestyle

My fondest memories while growing up were the ones that were spent together as a family. I remember going out on family outings every weekend. We would do different things together like go to the park or go swimming in the ocean.

We also learned new things like how to fish, ride our bikes and even learned a little book keeping at my father’s office. What I enjoyed the most was doing things together that made us laugh, grow and enjoy each others company. Those memories I will forever treasure!

Spending time as a family is very important to me. Now that I have my own family I want to create memories with them just like my parents did with me. I want us to be able to spread joy, kindness, and love not just within our own family but also with those around us. I want US to be a blessing to others.

“Be kind to one another.” Ephesians 4:32

So I have taken it a step further where doing “random acts of kindness” has become a way of life. It is part of our family lifestyle.  What I mean by family lifestyle is that it is rooted in our belief and faith in Jesus Christ.

So we prayerfully look for opportunities to be kind to those around us. There are so many creative ways to incorporate random acts of kindness in our everyday lives.  You may already be doing random acts of kindness everyday and don’t realize that you are doing it.

  • Cook them a meal

There is so many more ways we can show kindness to others so let those creative juices flow. I encourage you to sit down with your family and come up with your own list. Be creative and think outside the box. Think of things you enjoy doing as a family and see how you can turn those things into a random acts of kindness.

Also keep a journal of the dates, different things you have done, what was the person’s reaction, what did you learn, and anything else you want to record. This would make such a special keepsake to have and to be able to look back on with your children years down the road.

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” Mark Twain

I hope this has inspired you to look out for opportunities to bless others and to add more random acts of kindness into your daily life. Go now and create wonderful memories that your family will cherish for years to come!

  1. A very inspiring visit here. And, the concepts mentioned here are correct: physical acts of kindness are an understood “language”, even to the deaf and blind, and actually communicates better than mere words to the intended recipient. Thank you for the fine links and websites. I apologise for submitting this twice: I am having keyboard glitches. Keep up the good work. People need opportunities to see things in such positive perspectives!
