For all my readers who are affiliated with the military, here’s a special offer just for you! Kings Dominion is offering FREE admission to the park for all active and retired military personnel during their Memorial Weekend Salute (May 28-30).
The Kings Dominion Memorial Weekend Salute is a full weekend of festivities to honor our nation’s heroes.
Memorial Weekend Salute Activities
Each day during Memorial Weekend, the park will open with a live performance of the National Anthem by TRADOC Army Band or 380th Army Band. You can catch them both performing on International Street. If you visit on Memorial Day, you’ll also get a chance to watch a fife and drum performance.
Just past International Street at the Eiffel Tower, the USO will be set up to hand out information. I always love chatting with the people from the USO. They are so enthusiastic about helping military members and veterans and they’re some of the friendliest people around.
If you visit the park on Memorial Day, you’ll find Candice Smith from NBC12 under the Eiffel Tower. She’ll be greeting fans and signing autographs.
The entire park will be decorated in stars and stripes. Uncle Sam will be wandering around the park too so if you go, don’t miss your chance to get a picture with him.
It wouldn’t be a Memorial Day celebration without fireworks. This year Kings Dominion has expanded their display, with even more fireworks than in previous years so even if you’ve visited in the past, it will be worth hanging around to watch.
In addition to the Memorial Weekend Salute, Kings Dominion has several other fun events planned this year:
Star Spangled Celebration – July 2 through July 4
KidsFest – July 16 through July 24
BBQ and Brewfest – August 6 through August 21
Great Pumpkin Festival – September 18 through October 30
