Hello. Having made this recipe several times using fresh(but frozen, from my own home grown berries), I can share with you that if you use the berries in their whole fresh or fresh/frozen state without cooking them down to release some of their water content, they will be quite hard and icy in the final product. However, if you heat them to release some of their juices and then incorporate them into the sweetened condensed milk and whipped cream mixture they will have a better texture in the frozen ice cream. Remember that if you cook your berries they must be cooled down before incorporating them. Enjoy!]]></description>
