In reply to Cass. I just double checked the recipe. The ingredient amounts are correct, but the freezer time to let it set might not be sufficient, depending on how cold your freezer gets. It sounds like they just needed to set longer in the cold in order to firm up. I will make a note in the recipe card to extend the freezer time before rolling.

I tried to make these twice and both times, they turned out like cream cheese icing. I used block cream cheese, softened and the second time, used cold as I figured it would stay harder or stiffer longer.
Any reason why this happened? It’ll end up being an egg nog cookie dip at this point.

In reply to Carmen. I've never tried making this with red candy melts, so I don't know for sure. However, I assume it would work, you would just have red batter and a red coating, instead of white. If you try it, you'll have to come back and let us know how it turned out.
