In reply to <a href="https://wondermomwannabe.com/college-care-package/#comment-81090">Cara Sue Achterberg</a>.

Love all of your ideas! I need to buy some of those pencils. I just sent my son some long underwear for winter because he isn't accustomed to the sort of cold weather he's about to experience. I also threw in a funny Halloween card. I always try to throw in a recent pic of the family and usually have everybody jot a few lines down to remind him why he was happy to get out of here in the first place. LOL. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'll be sharing more care package ideas in the coming months. I'd love for you to come back and share more of your ideas too!

I just sent my oldest to college, too! The first couple weeks, I had to send packages every week because he'd forgotten stuff (books, CDs, games - all of which made me wonder if we'd chosen a slacker school, since he seems to have plenty of free time), but now I'm sending stuff because I want to, not because he needs it. This week I sent a shirt for his Halloween costume (his request), a CD his dad thinks he'll like, a small package of pencils that say "your mom loves you" - found them in a cool local shop, and nerds candy (for my nerd).
His birthday is in a few weeks and I know he's feeling a little homesick, so I'm looking for fun stuff I could send. contemplating silly string, Cards Against Humanity, silly putty, would love a few more suggestions.
Just discovered this site - really enjoying it.
