40+ Delicious Greek Yogurt Topping Ideas

In most of my snacking and breakfast posts, I tout the benefits of Greek yogurt. Creamy goodness packed with protein and calcium—what’s not to love? Plain, fat-free Greek yogurt is a staple in my house because I eat it almost every day. So believe me, I know that it can be boring to have a cup of yogurt with berries and granola every day for breakfast or a snack.

Also, if you intend to share the benefits of Greek yogurt with the rest of your family, you’re going to have to dress it up a little to win them over. Yogurt doesn’t have to be boring! I’ve compiled a list of over 40 ingredients you can add to your yogurt to keep it interesting.

yogurt While most of these are pretty healthy additions, you will notice I have a very naughty dessert section at the end. I have a wicked sweet tooth so I like to satisfy it with dessert once in a while (okay, daily). I figure if I’m going to be naughty, I should mitigate the damage a little so I pair my indulgence with Greek yogurt which serves the dual purpose of adding some nutrition to my dessert AND minimizing the amount of sweets I eat since I only add enough to blend in with the yogurt.

Healthy eating is a lifestyle, so why deprive yourself of little treats like cookies and candy for the rest of your life? As long as you are smart about your choices and exercise moderation in your serving size, you should be able to indulge some unhealthy cravings on occasion.

  5. Hmmm…I actually really like Greek yoghurt. Once of my favourite ways to eat is drizzled with some honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It then tastes like cinnamon doughnuts, but a lot healthier!!
